Clown Car Chronicles

Last night The Strong Man embarked on a new adventure. This adventure will forever change the way Barnum and Bailey do grocery shopping. Will it make it easier? faster? less of a hassle?

Absolutely not.

The adventure began with The Strong Man parking next to a car cart. Barnum has been a fan ever since he was 1. However, on this day he scooted over, patted the seat and said, "Brother here."

Life was good for about 5 minutes. Barnum gave Bailey lessons on driving, honking the horn and nabbing items off of the shelves.

Then he put him in a headlock repeatedly and tried to push him out.

A Funny Ha Ha to Lighten up your Monday

Oh how I wish I could take credit for this funny find!!

I stumbled across this over at my Blogging BFF Melissa's site. It was such an instant hit in my family that The PuppetMaster and her Rock Band performed it at her church's Harvest Carnival. (Video details will hopefully follow soon!)

For instant hilarity click here.

Parade of Costumes

Barnum was honored to be a guest at his friend's Parade of Costumes yesterday. However, as made evident by this snapshot:

It was devastating to give up his role as Ringmaster.

Being the good sport he is, he put his feelings behind him and performed like an incredible circus artist.

He displayed superior balancing skills on the wall of doom.

He gave the Mistress of Magic center stage when it was her turn. (Abby CaDabby for those of you who are Elmo challenged).

Barnum Flew Through the Air with the Greatest of Ease.

After much persuasion he agreed to drive the clown car.

The parade was a HUGE SUCCESS!!! However, the circus artists needed to blow off steam after such a high stakes performance. Their solution was to beat this poor pumpkin to death!!!

What surprises that poor pumpkin yielded after his death!! OH!!! Wait a minute. The surprises aren't OVER!! Look what Barnum grabbed when The Bearded Lady turned her back.

All I can say people, is that I told him what would happen if he ate all of that sugar!!!

Whose in charge of the fireworks?

Thank you dear readers for an INCREDI~WONDERFUL blog launch party yesterday! You guys really rolled out and provided lots of support. It was just the fuel I needed to keep my blogging dreams alive.

Please, let me address the one question I received all day yesterday. "Whose in charge of the fireworks?" Easy....this guy:

Meet Bailey. He is our resident Pyrotechnician. Just admire his fireworks.

Buzz Lightyear TO THE RESCUE!

Barnum is MORE than obsessed with Buzz Lightyear. He truly believes himself to BE Buzz Lightyear. This fact was made evident one time when he was being placed in "time out." You see, when he became what The Strong Man and I deemed as "eligible" for "time out," his mommy was paralyzed and his daddy was juggling too many flaming batons. Therefore, we needed more of a time out PLACE versus a time out SPOT. A place he couldn't run away from.

Barnum & Bailey's sweet, sweet Aunt (hmmmmm. We'll call her The Puppetmaster) had the clever idea to use any parent's best friend...the Pack N Play. FYI....Worked like a CHARM!!!

Back to Buzz...One day The Strong Man was executing the "time out" routine with Barnum and the second he placed him in the Pack N Play Barnum stood up, pointed one arm straight at The Strong Man and used his other arm to deftly push imaginary buttons while yelling, "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!!! I don't want time out. I get you Zurg!! (The Evil Emperor from Toy Story I & II). The Strong Man reacted in textbook parenting form by falling to the ground and playing dead.

Handy Verbal Directory for Cell Phones

Hello All!! The Strong Man came across this info and believed it to be blog worthy. I happened to agree and here it is:

Here's a number worth putting in your cell phone, or your home phone speed dial: 1-800-goog411. This is an awesome service from Google, and it's free -- great when you are on the road.

Don't waste your money on information calls and don't waste your time manually dialing the number. I am driving along in my car and I need to call the golf course and I don't know the number. I hit the speed dial for 1-800-goog411.

The voice at the other end says, 'City & State.' I say, ' Houston, Texas.' The voice says, 'Business, Name or Type of Service.' I say, 'Tour 18 Golf Course.' The voice says, 'Connecting' and Tour 18 answers the phone. How great is that? This is nationwide and it is absolutely free!

Click on the link below and watch the short clip for a quick demonstration.

Joining the Blogosphere

I am a bit terrified of my entrance into the realm of BLOGS!! Having been recently accused (uh-hm Katie) of being a "lurking blog reader" I got to thinking...I wake up everyday and struggle to run "The Greatest Show on Earth!!" It is BEYOND humorous and others just may get a kick out of it. Also, our beloved extended family who live miles and miles and hours and hours away may just like keeping up with us. I will give it the Old College Try and see what happens.

Please people...just know..the support from the Strong Man (aka The Hubs) is unprecedented. For example, while brainstorming my blog ideas I asked him this question, "Should I refer to myself as The Trapeze Artist or The Tightrope Walker?" I wanted my reference to be a metaphor for my role as a loving wife and SAHM. His response, "The Bearded Lady."
