My 2nd Most Favorite Vacation

5 years ago, if someone would have said to me; "Your 2nd Most Favorite Vacation will actually be a Staycation" I would have snarled my nose and replied, "I highly doubt it."

Flash forward 5 years.

My 2nd MOST FAVORITE VACATION IS MY CURRENT STAYCATION!!!!

How?

The Strongman singlehandedly drove Barnum and Bailey the grueling 10 hours North to bless their grandparents. He has set up residence/worksite at his parent's house and Barnum and Bailey ping-pong back and forth between their two sets of grandparents.

He has been gone since last Wednesday and is not due to return until FRIDAY!!! THAT IS 10 DAYS!!! I am beside myself and every cabinet, drawer, cubby and closet has been thoroughly cleaned and reorganized!! In addition, I have had continuous thoughts!!!

I am missing the dickens out of the little punks. All three of them!!

Where are they?

They are in the Great Plains. Where you can see for miles and miles and miles.

How are their nutritional needs being met? By eating CHICKEN FRIED BACON of course!!

What are the effects of eating chicken fried bacon?

Circus Fare--Tea Cakes

I am no Bakerella, however, I did conjure up these little tea cakes:


They are strawberry flavored poundcake with a strawberry glaze per the request of my darling little niece, The Artist.

She was hosting a lovely tea party in honor of her birthday. Her birthday that was in MARCH!!!! I never claim to be anything more than a day late and a dollar short. Can I get an Amen from those who know me????

First of all......





Thankfully, The PuppetMaster and her family have finally arrived in town!!!! The little green part of the banner says 'almost' b/c nothing about this move has been easy or FINAL!!! We hope to end all of that this Tuesday. Please pray your heads off that this is the case. That every piece of paper work arrives correctly and on time and that every signature counts. For. Real.

Happy 4th of July!!!

We had a GREAT time celebrating with friends! The hostess went OVER and BEYOND to make a special meal (recipe here) and tablescape!!! The girl has mad skills!! I highly suggest checking her blog often!!!
